Sarah Yoo, LSW

She/Her

Starting therapy can be scary. Being vulnerable with a stranger takes a lot of courage and dedication. This is especially true if you are someone prone to privacy, logic or reason–or, perhaps you grew up thinking you need to hide your feelings in an effort to appear “strong.”

My own therapy journey has taught me that being in tune with your emotions doesn’t make you weak. In fact, it helps you become stronger than you could ever know. I’m here to help you discover the same for yourself.

We don’t learn in school how to work through significant transitions, make important life decisions, or build meaningful relationships. I want to support you through all of the challenges that get thrown your way. We will work together to practice compassion towards yourself, getting out of your own head, and appreciating all the joys and difficulties we experience simply by being human.

It’s important to me to create a safe and welcoming environment where anyone can feel free to talk about anything. My passion is to help you learn more about who you are and what matters the most to you. My hope is to guide you towards an even more evolved version of yourself–a version you may not have known could exist.

If you'd like to meet for a 15-minute consultation to see if we might be a good fit, you can reach me at sarah@humboldtparkcounseling.com.
